Robin Downing

Since graduating from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois in 1986, Dr. Robin has been blazing her own trail within veterinary medicine, providing state of the art and state of the heart medical care.  She Founded the Downing Center for Animal Pain Management in 1991.

She passionately shares her vision for the bright future of veterinary medicine and the Family-Pet Bond through her daily work, her writing, and speaking nationally and internationally at veterinary meetings. She serves as a Trustee for the Morris Animal Foundation and is an affiliate faculty member at the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Her degree in English from Loyola University of Chicago is put to good use weekly in her column in the Thursday issue of The Denver Post, magazine articles, short stories, and her book, Pets Living with Cancer: A Pet Owner’s Resource.

In 2001, Dr. Robin was presented the prestigious Excellence in Veterinary Healthcare Award by the World Small Animal Veterinary Association in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
